There are many reasons why people would add a watermark to their videos. It might be to prevent people from stealing their multimedia content, or it could be to make sure watchers know that they are the ones who made the video. Sometimes, however, watermarks are just plain annoying, so it’s no surprise that people would want to have it removed. Thankfully, there are tools like the Video Watermark Remove by Thundersoft to help users remove watermarks from videos. Is it actually good at its one job?
Installing the program is both quick and easy. You only need to follow standard installations steps, and you won’t be required to install any other software before you can get this program running. The interface is also pretty simple and easy to understand. However, one minor caveat is that the watermark removal options are hidden until you click the watermark removal icon. That said, the button is rather easy to find as it’s located just at the bottom of the preview window.
Thundersoft’s Video Watermark Remove has three methods for removing watermarks. The process is the same for all of them, but the results are different. The user can choose based on how they prefer the removed watermark should look. To remove a watermark, just click on the remove watermark button. A box that can be resized will appear on the video preview. The user can drag and resize the box to cover the watermark. Once the watermark has been covered, the user can now choose one of the three methods for removing watermarks.
The three methods are Delogo, Mosaic, and Gaussian Blur. In Delogo, the part where the user has indicated a watermark will have a vertical blur on it that makes the watermark unreadable. Gaussian Blur works in pretty much the same way except the blur is horizontal. The Mosaic has a much different look than the other methods. Once you apply it to the marked spot, it will look like a pixelated mosaic. For all of these methods, you will be able to adjust the level of blurring and mosaic that you will apply to the video.
Unfortunately, the Video Watermark Remove is not suitable for any watermark that sits right at the center of the video. Since all of the methods for removing watermarks involve blurring some part of the video, having it right at the center will definitely affect a user’s viewing experience. It’s very good for watermarks located at the corners or edges of the video, however.
There’s no doubt that the Video Watermark Remove by Thundersoft is completely functional. However, you do have to choose appropriate videos to process because some just cannot be processed without compromising video quality. The trick is to make sure that the watermarks are placed at the edges of the video so that you can blur it out without affecting the overall watchability of the video.
