There’s a lot of video content on the web which you just can’t access on a regular TV. For many savvy users, internet or downloaded TV makes up most of what they watch. The Video & TV Cast Chromecast app is essentially a third-party app which works through your existing Chromecast device. Run from your mobile device, it lets you send videos from the small screen to the big screen. This includes webvideos, online movies, IPTV, livestreams and live-tv, up to full HD, but not DRM content like Netflix. Just browse to a web video, then with a tap, send it to the TV screen. The app even blocks pop-ups and ads as you search. Playback is straightforward, as it generates a simple slider bar at the bottom of the video. You even have a few usability options such as saving the last used site.
While the Video & TV Cast Chromecast app isn’t flawless, it does allow you to add content to your TV and it’s pretty easy to use. The only downside is unsupported content like Amazon and HBO.
