The Lost Fear starts off with your character waking up from an eerie dream, only to discover that they’ve been placed in an unfamiliar location with nobody to help them. Players will have to go through a series of rooms and corridors—all while keeping an eye out for some jumpscares here and there—as they figure out how they got there and how to escape.

This indie game makes great use of a tense atmosphere to keep players on the edge of their seats, adding a sense of thrill to the game’s exploration aspect. Just make sure to keep in mind that the game also features some mature content in the form of blood and minor gore. For a young, indie developer, the game’s graphics are also quite impressive and further immerse players in the setting.

As already mentioned, the overall gameplay duration isn’t quite lengthy, with approximately 10 to 15 minutes of total runtime. While the chilling, tension-filled atmosphere is enough to reel you in, this does leave players feeling as if the climax and ending are both lacking. The game’s final boss can also look intimidating from afar but can look too tame when seen from a closer angle.

While The Lost Fear doesn’t have an entirely fleshed-out plot for players to unravel, its immersive environment and dedication to presenting a terrifying experience allow players to look forward to an interesting adventure.
