Using an antivirus tool is almost mandatory these days, but it may not be enough to fully protect your system from online threats.

SpyCatcher completes the layer of protection created by other security tools such as an antivirus and a firewall. This effective app scans the computer for spyware, adware, Trojans and any other undesirable elements that may have invaded your system, even without you noticing. There's only one type of scan available, though it can be scheduled to run automatically.

Besides scanning, SpyCatcher also protects your computer with special filters with which you can allow or block specific applications, based on the program itself or on the developer. Plus SpyCatcher is constantly monitoring the system's behavior for actions that are commonly associated with spyware – something that may result in the program being a bit too protective: it even tried to block my screenshot tool while testing it!

SpyCatcher is quick, effective and easy to use. The only thing I missed was having more configuration options than just the ones you find under the Advanced tab – and which didn't seem that "advanced" to me at all.
