The gameplay of Naruto x Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections comes with additional game modes designed to keep players completely engaged. Story modes include both History Mode and Special Story Mode. In History Mode, nostalgia-seekers can immerse themselves in the story of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden all in one game. Intense and epic moments from Chunin Exams to the Fourth Great Ninja War are inserted as anime cutscenes and cinematic graphics for you to relish.
As for Special Story Mode, it is not called as such for no reason. This story mode is exclusively created for the game, which comes with an all-original story. The plot revolves around Boruto with two other characters. During the great peace in the Ninja World, Boruto discovers a popular online game called Ninja Heroes, and develops a special relationship with Nanashi. Here their mission to stop Merz from destroying the Ninja World takes off.
Apart from the two unique story modes, the game also features Battle Mode, comprising Free Offline Battle and Network Battle. The Free Battle Mode lets you play in 1P vs 2P battles, survival, tournament, league, and practice games. Network Battle includes a casual match against random players online and a rank match against advanced and competitive players within your rank. With Battle Mode, you can unleash the ninja in you and be the best fighter you can ever be.
A game is no more fun without customization items you can collect and apply to your characters and environment. In NARUTO X BORUTO Ultimate Ninja STORM CONNECTIONS, players can win items as battle rewards to design their battle experience to their liking. These consist of costumes, accessories, stamps, backgrounds and even character poses. Another improvement that players should watch out for is the inclusion of two control modes. There is Simple Control Mode which simplifies and automates combos. Recommended for beginners, this mode lets you perform a series of actions with a single click. Normal Control Mode is still at hand for long-time players.
Another unique feature associated with this platform involves the ability for players to view Naruto's past through a series of cutscenes. These include his famous clash with Sasuke. Of course, the graphics themselves have been updated to provide even more entertainment.
Regarding its detailed anime scenes, this latest version has remained true to form, which is a nice touch for traditionalists. However, the graphics themselves are also smoother and much more intricate. This should appeal to an entirely new generation of players.
