MuseScore is a versatile, open-source music notation software that's available across multiple platforms and languages. It offers an intuitive WYSIWYG editor with audio score playback, enabling users to create, playback, and print sheet music for free. The software supports numerous features, including unlimited staves with up to four voices each, score creation wizard, automatic part extraction, repeats, dynamics, custom text markings, lyrics, chord symbols, and more.

With its extensive capabilities, MuseScore allows users to import/export MIDI and MusicXML files and even import from other programs such as Capella. It also enables users to export their creations to various formats, including PDF, PNG, WAV, and Lilypond. MuseScore provides a built-in sound library and the option to substitute any SoundFont for more diverse or realistic sounds. Additionally, it offers an ever-growing repository of plugins on musescore.org and incorporates numerous user-defined styles. Most elements in MuseScore are automatically laid out, but manual positioning is also possible, giving users the flexibility to meet their unique needs.
