Kanto Audio Mix is an audio editor software that enables you to easily modify music files. This multimedia program is an all-in-one package consisting of basic editing functions like merging and splitting and more advanced tools such as removing the vocals and adding effects. There’s a free trial version available and a premium version that offers a lifetime license and free updates.
All the main features found in Kanto Audio Mix are easy to use, thanks to its simple and intuitive interface. However, take note that this audio editor differs from most similar programs, as its tracks don’t scroll or zoom on its timeline overview area. This software is best used for creating karaoke and ringtone versions of music files. You can add more than one file to create song medleys and such, but it can be a bit tricky if you’re planning to combine a lot of songs.
First among the features is the Joiner tool, which is used for merging separate audio files. You can use this function by enabling the crossfade effect and fiddling with the Fade In and Fade Out settings on the tracks. Inversely, the Splitter tool can cut any part you desire from a file by using the two sliders on each track. It won’t actually “crop” out that selected part, though—basically, whatever’s outside of the sliders just gets muted. This means you can undo your cropping quite easily.
To augment these two tool’s functions even further, you can use the Overlapping tool by enabling “Overlap Tracks” on the right side of the menu. This will play the tracks together when you export the file, and you can also preview how it sounds by clicking the “Preview Output Song” button. However, take note that you shouldn’t use this if you’re planning for a medley or chain of cut audio parts. This is better used for mixing vocals and instrumentals.
There’s also the Audio Editor for changing the key, volume, and speed of your audio. If you want to improve its quality, you can use the Mixer tool and the Equalizer. This software also comes with converters and lets you convert MP3 and MIDI files to OGG, WAV, MP4, M4A, and AAC—including video files among its allowed file formats for editing. However, its best feature is the Vocal Remover, which allows you to choose whether it’s the vocals or the background instrumentals that you want to deafen.
Kanto Audio Mix’s free demo allows you to try out all of the functions available. However, once you export and save an output file, it will automatically have a recorded voice saying that it’s only a demo—and this will play for every 60 seconds as the track continues. You will need the premium license to remove this on future exported files. There’s only one license plan for this software, and it’s a lifetime subscription that comes with free updates.
All in all, Kanto Audio Mix is a good choice if you like making your own custom music tracks. It’s simple to use as there aren’t a lot of buttons on the interface to overwhelm you. However, audio-editing veterans may prefer more advanced features that can be found in a program like Audacity. Nevertheless, for its lifetime premium version, this is a nice app to try out when you’re making easy music edits.
