Although we live in an increasingly globalized world, we still use different measurement units for different elements: hence the need of an application such as Das Unit Converter.
This simple utility provides you with the necessary means to convert from one unit to another, covering more than 1,800 measurement units in about 80 different categories.
These include traditional elements like area, length, weight, mass, data storage, temperature or speed among others, and also more scientific units such as magnetic field strength and cinematic or dynamic viscosity.
The program is very easy to use: simply select the units you want to convert, enter their value and press the correspondent button. There are also a few extra tools (a small notepad, a direct link to the Windows calculator and an embedded search utility among others) though the most exciting one is undoubtedly the possibility to add new categories and unit conversions to the program.
On the downside, the buttons that take you to these functions should have at least an alternate text to identify them; otherwise the only way to know what they're there for is by clicking on them.
