Arena of Valor is an action-packed 3D multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game that lets you play epic and fast-paced competitive matches of up to 5-vs-5. Designed by Tencent Games, you can play various characters with different skills and roles on the battlefield. Similar to other MOBAs, the goal is to defeat your opponents’ base on the map while defending your own. Teamwork and coordination are a must in this strategy game.

Gotta Keep Up

With online battles taking place in real-time, Arena of Valor pits you up against the struggle of planning your moves as the fight happens. You can’t just simply take a breather in MOBA games, and this title is no exception. Fortunately, the large map’s design and isometric perspective give you enough leeway to execute your team’s strategies as you weave in-between your enemies and their devastating attacks against you. Arena of Valor doesn’t let you rely on your environment much, but you can still make use of the different routes available on the map. 

Select Your Hero

Another trademark of Arena of Valor as a MOBA is its large roster of playable heroes to choose from. There are over 40 characters in the world of this game, and each one is unique in what they can bring to the battlefield. There are various roles you can take up in the matches depending on your chosen character—a feature traditionally found in RPGs. You can either act as a defensive tank, an aggressive damage-dealer, a vigilant healer, or any other sub-category role that blends with other roles. You won’t be alone, anyway, so don’t sweat too hard about your line-up of heroes.

It’s More Fun with Friends

MOBAs will always give you the thrill of facing off against real people online, and Arena of Valor delivers the same. Here, you have various gameplay modes, including 5v5, 3v3, and 1v1 matches to fit the length of games that suits your tastes. There’s even a unique “Hook Wars” mode that spices up the normal gameplay. Even the sheer number of playable characters will make sure that each encounter against your online opponent won’t be boring. MOBA is also a great way to play with your friends. You can team up with them to take on tougher foes. 

From Mobile to PC

The best thing about Arena of Valor, however—aside from the fast-paced action MOBAs are known for—is the fact that you can play it in the comfort of your PC. Tencent’s games are mostly for mobile and Arena of Valor is the same, but with Tencent Gaming Buddy—Tencent’s own Android emulator—you can join in on the action even if you’re not on your phone. Arena of Valor isn’t perfect, though. Just like other MOBAs, it has latency issues and more often than not, toxic players who may turn you off. It’s a great game to play with friends, however, so feel free to try it and size it up yourself.
