Age of DOOM is a free fan-inspired game that combines the classic top-down nature of Age of Empires with the combat tactics attributed to the DOOM franchise. Its retro graphics will likely appeal to fans of both genres.

Age of DOOM shares many elements in common with both platforms. In addition to enhanced character mechanics, players can enjoy an entirely new storyline. It is important to note that this mod can be used as a standalone game. No additional software will be required.

Staying true to classic DOOM options

The developer has included all of the character options that players have become familiar with. These include (but are not limited to) sprinting, teleportation, and the ability to interact with nearby objects, such as elevator switches.

An entirely new plot with some original features

It should be noted that player campaigns have been redesigned from the ground up. Nonetheless, there are several elements taken from the original DOOM (1993) and DOOM III (2004) games that have been included. For instance, a villain known as Betruger shares many features in common with classic DOOM foes.

Point-and-click action

While DOOM was one of the most impressive first-person shooters, Age of Empires is considered to represent the epitome of top-down RTS games. Both of these features can now be enjoyed when playing Age of DOOM. In other words, this bundle represents a hybrid of FPS action and Diablo-like movements.

Age of DOOM was envisioned by the very same scenario designer responsible for Age of Empires 2. Therefore, players can expect to become immersed in a unique synergy of action and real-time strategy.
