A more intelligent way to add videos to iTunes

iTunes is one of software's big success stories but one area where it lets itself down is the handling of videos, in particular the fact that it can only handle a few video formats.

This means that if you're adding everything from 3GP to DivX files, you'll need to perform time consuming conversions before iTunes will accept them. VideoDrive makes the importing of video files an absolute breeze and it even labels them using the IMDB and Amazon too.

This latest version of VideoDrive supports something that Snow Leopard users have been waiting for - QuickTime X so there's no need to downgrade to QuickTime 7 anymore. This trial is supposed to be limited to 20 video imports although I received an immediate error message saying my evaluation had expired already which I removed by reinstalling it.

Once you've selected the files on your hard drive you want to import, just click "import" (it supports batches by the way and even entire folders) and VideoDrive will whizz into action. The great thing is that VideoDrive allows you to preview and label videos according to their listing in the IMDB and Amazon. This saves lots of time labeling and ensures that they are labeled uniformly before importing into iTunes.

There is very little to criticize in Videodrive - it's an excellent application that removes the need for conversion of different file types to import into iTunes and this latest version supports QucikTime X finally.
