Max is a streaming platform from WarnerMedia Entertainment that provides an excellent blend of premium HBO content, fresh originals, a trove of popular and classic movies from AT&T-owned brands, cartoon, and anime shows. Other top video streaming capabilities included in Max are offline downloads, parental controls, and different user accounts. Max's only downside is that it currently lacks 4K content and doesn't provide closed captions.
Max is the newest streaming service to carry the HBO name, but you might be curious if it varies from the other HBO platforms. HBO announced that it would no longer offer support for HBO Go users. Instead, HBO Go viewers will be migrated to Max. HBO Now is now known simply as HBO. If you just want HBO's original material, HBO is the provider to use. Max contains all HBO shows as well as a multitude of other WarnerMedia material.
To use the app, go to the Home, Browse, and Profile icons at the bottom of your screen. The app's Settings tab is located in the Profile folder. You can control all devices you use to access Max, as well as check your account and billing records, set streaming, and upgrade priorities, and opt-out of updates. On the Home page, you'll find featured shows and movies, as well as suggestions.
The on-demand streaming service has an extensive content catalog. This includes new and classic HBO series, Max Originals, select shows, and movies from WarnerMedia brands such as Warner Bros., New Line Cinema, DC, CNN, and others. You can download 30 episodes or movies at once. You have 30 days to start viewing an episode and 48 hours to finish watching it. Additionally, you can only have 5 copies of the same show or movie through all of your devices (mobile and web app).
Following the goal to provide a better depth and breadth of content, HBO is set to replace its streaming platform giant HBO Max with Max—an enhanced version of its predecessor. It will basically capture the essence of HBO Max, such as favorite series like Game of Thrones, Succession, and more, but offer additional shows across various genres and even premieres.
Fret not if you’re an existing HBO Max subscriber, though, as you’ll only need to update your app or download the new one to continue watching your favorite shows. There’s no need to purchase another subscription all over again.
As a result of HBO's integration into AT&T's network of entertainment brands, Max offers a vast selection of content, including classic HBO films, popular movies, and anime. Max also impresses with a well-designed app, an absence of advertisement, offline downloads, and a substantial number of browsing profiles.
