Battle Playground is a free game that can be played by two users in competition mode or by a single player who simply enjoys watching the mayhem unfold. The game allows the player to fill a map with fighters, weapons, and deadly vehicles.
The game shares its core mechanics and visual style with Melon Playground and Ragdoll Playground. However, it stands out from its rivals due to its competitive gameplay. Characters are divided into two teams, each one fighting for victory.
Battle Playground opens by asking the player to choose between three maps, each of which is divided into two halves. After this, you need to insert "ragdoll" characters onto both sides of the map, along with various weapons and props. Once the combatants are in place, press the crossed-swords icon, and the two will automatically fight each other.
The ragdoll characters, named after their floppy movements, come in three varieties: plain, robot and plant-man. The prop library is divided into five categories: "stabbing" (knives, swords and axes), "ranged" (various guns and projectiles), "equipment" (costumes and shields), "machine" (from landmines to tanks), and "pet" (includes horses, camels, elephants, and even dragons).
In a two-player game of Battle Playground, the players can take turns adding characters and weapons to their respective teams and then watch the results. The game also has fun to offer a single player — stack up the weapons on both sides and see how much destruction they cause.
The pixelated graphics are basic, but Battle Playground includes some graphic gore effects, such as slain fighters turning into bleeding skeletons. Although the violence is comical, it might remain unsuitable for younger players.
