The game follows a plot that continues from the Lego Batman 2 game where the main antagonist, Brainiac, now aims to shrink the entire planet Earth so he can add it to his collection of tiny things. You will join Batman, Robin, and other DC superheroes in trying to stop this from happening. The plot is very interesting and leads to various missions that can be accomplished by the different heroes. Some tasks will require the skills of the other characters like Wonder Woman and Green Lantern. Getting to try other heroes makes the game more interesting especially since the skill set and action of each one is limited. Playing Batman and Robin for the whole game might be tiring and will probably make the game repetitive. Although, you will not be disappointed by the adventure that awaits you. There are lots of places to explore and hidden objects to find. 

Its main storyline can be easily completed but the fun and enjoyment do not end there. Other minor missions and subtasks that are not part of the plot can still be accomplished. Usually, you will stumble upon them by accident and you will find yourself pleasantly surprised. There is also a free play mode where you can go back and do missions you have already completed from the main storyline. 

A hilarious adventure

The game does not fail to bring the comedy of the popular Lego movies in its gameplay. It uses the characters’ funny antics, ridiculous scenarios, and relatable jabs to keep the mood light, friendly, and simply funny. For instance, it may sound weird and absurd but Cyborg can actually turn himself into a washing machine in order to avoid getting spotted by the enemy. The Flash also stays true to its carefree character and you will enjoy watching him in the game’s cutscenes, Conan O’Brien also makes a special appearance and would constantly drop jokes that becomes funny because of how unfunny they are.

Let’s go Legos

There are no faults when it comes to the game’s graphics and designs. The game is smooth running and you will get to truly feel playing around a world that is made of Legos. Even if most of the game elements are made up of blocks, the environment still has a realistic touch to it that does not make the game entirely cartoonish. Unsurprisingly, the game’s graphics matched with its adventure-filled gameplay makes it appealing to players of all ages.

LEGO ® Batman: Beyond Gotham is a great game that superhero fans will definitely enjoy. It is able to twist the usual dark themes of DC into hilarious comedy. The game is filled with adventures that will keep you interested and its characters are all adorable.
