Don't let the cute 3D graphics fool you as Hello Neighbor: Diaries is a horror game. As the protagonist, you have to find Mr. Peterson's son and uncover the secrets behind your strange neighbor. Some people say your neighbor is a serial killer, but is that the truth? The only way to find out is by visiting his house.

Solve the mystery

With you armed with mainly your wits and guts, Hello Neighbor: Diaries will challenge you to solve a mystery at your neighbor’s house. Once you get to break in, you need to observe your surroundings and collect items that will aid you in your search. There is an alert bar at the top of the screen that will fill up if your neighbor gets wind of your presence.

If the alert overflows, you will get chased. Then, if you get caught by your neighbor, you will have to restart the game. Use your problem-solving skills as you make your way around the house. You can also set all discovered clues and important items aside in a certain room, in case you will need them for further investigation. Plus, players get exciting rewards for daily log-ins.

The game also boasts easy-to-understand controls as well as terrific and immersive sound effects that bump up the creepy factor. However, the game tends to crash or glitch from time to time. When that happens, usually the progress made by the player is not saved, so everything has to be repeated from the top. Sometimes, these bugs get triggered by merely picking up objects in-game.

Laggy but still worth it

Albeit prone to crashing and lagging, Hello Neighbor: Diaries is still a worthwhile thriller game to give a try. The graphics and soundtrack are superb, even more so since they are paired with a gripping mystery plot. There are lots of rooms to explore in your neighbor’s house and a lot of items and pieces of evidence to uncover. Daily rewards await avid players, too.
